What we do

// THE WORK

What is Shipside, exactly?

An AI business systems agency. We build websites, lead-capture workflows, Owner Visibility, missed-call follow-up, booking workflows, AI consulting, and custom internal systems for businesses that need more than a brochure online. The website is the front door most engagements start with — the systems behind it are where most of the leverage lives. Full CRM setup, integrations, and custom internal systems are scoped separately.

Are you a website agency or an AI consultancy?

Both, on purpose. The website is one service group. AI consulting and workflow mapping is another. Most engagements use a few of the seven service groups stitched together, scoped after a fit call.

Do you only work with trade businesses?

Most of our starter engagements are local service or trade businesses, but the systems work for anyone with operator-level workflow pain — service businesses, professional services, boutique product businesses. The AI Workflow Review applies broadly.

Do you do AI?

Where it earns its keep. Practical AI in workflows like missed-call follow-up, intake parsing, summary writing, and classification. Plain wiring everywhere AI doesn't help. We say no to AI when it doesn't fit — that's part of the consulting.

How we work

// PROCESS & SCOPING

Why don't you publish prices?

Because the right scope — and the right cost — depends on what runs the business and where the leverage is. Two shops with the same trade often need different builds. A public price list pretends that's not true. We scope after the fit call, in writing, before any work starts. More on how scoping works →

What is the fit call?

Fifteen minutes. Direct call with the founder. We ask what the business does, where leads come from, where time gets lost, what's already in place. Honest call on whether Shipside fits. No pitch deck, no commitment asked of you.

What is an AI Workflow Review?

A scoped consulting engagement that maps your business as it actually runs and surfaces where time and leads get lost. Output is a written document covering the workflow map, the bottleneck list, the build path, and an explicit don't-build list for things AI won't fix. More on consulting →

How fast can you start?

Fit call usually within a few days. Systems map and written scope shortly after, depending on complexity. Build start depends on current load and what we're building — we'll be honest about timing on the fit call.

What you own

// OWNERSHIP & HANDOFF

Do I own the website you build?

Yes. Files yours. Domain yours. Logins yours. No platform lock-in. If you cancel, the site stays live and you can take it to anyone else. Same goes for the systems we wire alongside it.

What happens if I stop working with Shipside?

The build keeps running. You own the files and the logins. The hosting and ongoing care arrangement can end any month. We don't hold work hostage to keep retainers running.

Will I have to babysit a dashboard?

No. Owner Inbox and Owner Summary are designed to be readable on your phone in a couple of minutes — the actual signal, not a dashboard. Push alerts for things that matter, digest for the weekly or monthly view.

What we don't do

// HONEST LIMITS

Do you do paid ads, SEO, or marketing?

No. Shipside builds the systems behind the marketing layer — capture, follow-up, Owner Visibility, AI workflows. Marketing services aren't part of the scope. We can recommend operators we trust if that's what you need next.

Do you set up listings or local profiles?

Not as a service. We focus on owned-system builds — the website, the capture stack, the workflows behind it. Listing management is a different service from a different vendor.

Do you publish testimonials or case studies?

We publish the build patterns we install — the real shapes engagements take. We don't post invented client logos, made-up testimonials, or stock-photo case studies. If you want to dig deeper into how a specific engagement played out, ask on the fit call. See the build patterns →

Still have a question?

The fit call is the fastest way to a real answer. Fifteen minutes. Honest call either way.
